IPSI contributed to several events at the seventeenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNCCD (UNCCD COP17), 17–28 August 2026, in Ulaanbaatar, addressing landscape restoration, governance and finance.

• 17 August — The Imperative to Finance Landscape and Territorial Scale Governance. IPSI members and partners discussed that landscape governance — coordinating land use across traditional and formal systems — remains under-recognized and underfunded. Below is the briefing note that was presented at the event.
• 21 and 23 August — UNU-IAS Promotes Inclusive Approaches to Landscape Restoration at UNCCD COP17. At two side events, the IPSI Secretariat made the case for locally grounded, participatory landscape restoration. The Secretariat shared IPSI’s experience scaling community-led solutions and presented early findings from IPSI–Asian Development Bank research.
