SDM 2026 Call for Proposal Open!
2026.08.07
We are pleased to announce that the Secretariat of the Satoyama Development Mechanism (SDM) has opened the call for proposals for SDM 2026. The SDM is a collaborative activity operated by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), UNU-IAS (host of the IPSI Secretariat), and the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. Its purpose is to provide financial support for the implementation of activities under IPSI.
The SDM provides funding for compelling projects that advance actions towards achieving the IPSI Strategic Objectives and thereby contribute to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). This year, up to JPY 2,200,000 will be granted to five selected projects. The project period should not exceed 24 months. Please note that for SDM2026, we strongly encourage project proposals that focus on developing or implementing IPSI Collaborative Activities.
