IPSI Highlights the Importance of Nested Governance at ACUNS 2025

The IPSI Secretariat participated in the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) Annual Meeting 2025, held on 23–25 June under the theme Environmental Multilateralism and Human Development. A special session, titled Revitalizing nested governance approaches to ensure equity in implementing socio-ecological policies, took place on 25 June and explored how multi-level governance can support more equitable and effective environmental action.
The session featured experts from UNEP, FAO and 1000 Landscapes for 1 Billion People to discuss the role of stakeholder engagement and context-sensitive policy design in strengthening socio-ecological resilience and accelerating progress on the SDGs.
