Third IPSI Global Conference (IPSI-3) and CBD COP11
October has arrived, and it is an exciting time for IPSI as many members prepare for the upcoming trip to Hyderabad, India to join the Third IPSI Global Conference (IPSI-3), being held back-to-back with CBD COP11.
Although some members will not be able to join IPSI-3 in person, the Secretariat is looking forward to sharing detailed information about all the IPSI-3 outcomes so that all members are completely up-to-date on the most recent developments.
Details about IPSI events being conducted before and during CBD COP11 are detailed below. First though, it is a great pleasure to announce that the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has kindly agreed to co-host IPSI-3.

Strong IPSI Presence at IUCN World Conservation Congress
“Nature+” was the theme of the IUCN World Conservation Congress that took place in Jeju, Republic of Korea from 6-15 September 2012. It was a pleasure to see that so many IPSI members participated and held a wide range of events during the Congress. The Secretariat was also pleased to actively participate, among other things, in a workshop on “Enhancing Resilience with Nature: Translating the Science and Practice of Ecosystem Restoration into Policy” featuring a range of distinguished speakers. The workshop was co-organized by the IPSI Secretariat together with the IUCN Global Water Programme and the Society for Ecological Restoration.
